[CLIENT] Spectate Mode not retrieving data?

When trying to open spectate mode I get the usually loading screen for League of Legends but it's just a blank black screen. It stays frozen for awhile before saying "Spectator server data request failed. The game will now exit." Even after clicking OK for that it doesn't exit and I gotta open task manager to forcefully close league. I checked the NA servers for anything on it, but it shows nothing to do with spectate mode and it was working just fine yesterday. Is anyone else experiencing this? I also had my friend check and it froze his computer cause he was stuck on the black screen. I was trying to watch my friends ranked games to learn something from them.
