Cannot Select Heros

For some reason, when I level up in the out-of-game menu, it doesnt allow me to select a new hero, eg: when i earn a new hero, and i have the choice of three, it doesnt allow me to select my reward. pretty annoying... as i have to buy them instead? looking for compensation here people. puts me at an unfair advantage.... how do i contact the game makers to fix this issue?
