Yeah, got that notification too and I'm too afraid to play right now. Computer security isn't a joke, unfortunately. :(

I just got the exact same problem. I think it's a bug with Avast rather than Riot trying to install random stupid viruses through a dropgen . Personally going to ignore it.

i have exactly the same problem as you. i have tried to uninstall and reinstall League of Legends but the problem pesists. I have also run a full system scan with diferent antivirus programs but it still wont let me reinstall lol. please help

Now that I think about it, as a Computer Science student, I've learned that it's common for blacklist algorithms work on a percentage system (AKA, the algorithm sacrifices accuracy for speed/cost, so the virus identification system can't say there's a 100% chance something is a bug, but they can say something is "probably" a bug). I'm not sure how AVAST is implemented, but there's probably a decent probability that it's just a false positive.

I mean, it's not the first time we've gotten an AVAST warning for League. Still going to wait until further notice just to be safe, though.
