Lux's E disappeared

I was playing Lux in a normal game and I went to throw her E out at somebody on the other team and it just disappeared. I couldn't reactivate the spell to use it or throw another e out all game. The E spell was just grey'd out like it was on cd but there was no timer. The picture is what the E looked like all game after I threw it out and it disappeared.
