[GAMEPLAY] Sion E minions don't go full range; Ult gets redirected by minions 2nd attempt

When using Sion's E to knock back a minion with low health, occasionally (less than 5 percent of the time) the minion will die before moving its full distance. Sometimes it dies on the spot, sometimes it dies after going about halfway, and sometimes it dies right as it hits a champ, as in it will contact their hitbox and then die, causing no damage to be inflicted. This seems to happen at random, so it is not easily reproducible, but happens to me at least once a game. The bug was gone after it was fixed in patch 4.20, but has reemerged in the latest patch, 4.21.

To reproduce:

  1. Cast E on minion with low enough health to die from E
  2. Minion will die before moving full range; distance moved is arbitrary

Also, when using Sion's ult directly in front of a minion or monster, he will sometimes be redirected in a completely different direction (sometimes as much as 90 degrees off) than the direction you intended. What happens is that, after casting the ult, Sion will flail around for about half a second trying to autopath around the minion, as a lot of us have experienced when getting creep blocked from time to time. This only happens at the very beginning of the ult, when Sion is still moving at normal speed. My guess is that in that ~.5sec before he speeds up, the ult behaves like normal movement and refuses to go through a minion as it should. To my experience (and I've had it happen probably around 30-40 times now), this ONLY happens when standing next to an enemy minion, never your own. It also doesn't happen 100 percent of the time, but more often than the E bug does. It happens in the same way as ulting right next to a wall at an oblique angle, and getting redirected as a result, but the direction is a lot more random with the minion.

To reproduce:

  1. Position Sion so that an enemy minion is right in front of him, or preferably, surrounded by a whole enemy creep wave
  2. Cast ult so that Sion will have to move directly through the enemy minion
  3. Watch as Sion refuses to go through the minion and instead flails around as autopath tries to reroute him around the minion
  4. After about half a second of flailing, Sion will 'lock in' to an arbitrary direction and will charge as normal, with no minion block
  5. Proceed to hit wall

This ult bug is the one that REALLY irritates me, as it usually ends up with me getting denied a kill or dying. Sorry no picture/video :/

Thanks for the report, it's very well explained and detailed! However, I've attempted to reproduce the bug multiple times and I haven't had any results.

If you could provide a video on how this issue is reproduced that would certainly be helpful in tracking this bug down.
