Ping Spikes when entering fights (mostly Normal games, sometimes ranked games.)

Im not sure why in this patch of league of legends specifically, (5.13), has ping spikes when enter fights and also disconnects. my last game as riven with a few friends had probably the most lag ive ever had. it was a normal 5v5 but the lag was intense, it felt like a 2v5 KAPPA. Anyways, my friend dced and i had some terrible ping lag. Hopefully this gets fixed before the next patch. When the new HUD hits 5.14 with ranked, i feel that it might impact ranked games. Hopefully you guys can find the bug!

I have looked into this and discovered that randomly the game client will call on a second connection with (for me) Seattle Washington and it is during these moments when i experience the spikes. I think there is a problem with the client making these hopefully unnecessary connections and I have been dealing with this for a week. I've attached a screenshot for proof that this is happening randomly during games. The NA servers are unplayable for me.
