Getting punished because I can not enter a match?!

I have no clue as to what is causing my game to crash, nor on how come I can not reconnect... and I will be temporarily banned because of it.. I joined a match and selected my champion as usual, however once I reached the loading screen to connect with everyone and the match... well I never even got to see that.. all I saw was a black screen for 3 minutes or so... then hear an alert sound and I press alt+esc to see what caused the sound and I see the league of legends logo still sitting in the middle of my screen from when the client was getting ready to commence the loading screen... Also see a report stating that I failed to connect. please help! I don't wish to be banned for something I had no control over.. hate that I am forced to leave my team at a 4v5 state.. please help and or fix asap.. Amumu item 3070

Does it say "The game has crashed"? I've been having this issue on and off for a week now. Upvoted, I hope they fix this soon.

Any news on this? I'm currently having the same problem. Its very frustrating, ill log in play a game and be ok but every game after that i cant get past champ select. just sits at a black screen and never loads. I'm able to chat with team and pick my champion just fine but it seems to crash after champ select without fail. Its ever worse when i can play and am getting suspended from games for afk'ing when it has nothing to do with me. I dont lag at all once I eventually get into the game so it cant be the internet. This all started with the most recent patch too.
