[CLIENT] Can't see what champion friends play in ranked

Scrolling through my friends list and hovering over their name would often display Summoner's Rift (Normal) - Aurelion Sol, for example. The other people, though, who are playing ranked, only have Summoner's Rift (Ranked). Why can't we see what champion they are playing? Screenshot
