[GAMEPLAY] patch 6.23 Tahm Kench W not eating the target

I played Tahm Kench today and this happened. I was playing with Jhin on bot verses Morgana and Ashe early game I could W my Jhin without a problem but after I died twice I was unable to W him anymore thoughout the rest of the game. I was able to W everything else(enemies,allies,minions,monsters). I am not sure what caused this bug.
