Client error and leavebuster

There is a problem with the League client which is penalizing me for leaving or being afk. For a few games over the past few days, and it happens sporadically, I create a game, accept, pick character, etc. Once everyone picks their toon and the countdown ticks down, sometimes the client will not launch the game but instead the words "skip waiting for statss" or something similiar like that appears. Then, I click it and it goes back to the home screen. I go through th 3 screens to create game, but everytime I clik play, nothing happens. So I wait 5 minutes or so, then I am able to click play and get a game going. This happened to me again just now and I get the damn LeaveBuster penalizing me for 10 minutes and I did not even leave nor afk from the game!!!!! It never started!!!! What can I do about this error?
