Unable to remake ranked game after teammate fails to connect

After an extremely long load in, the top lane Maokai on my team failed to connect. Never got past 60% during loading. At three minutes I attempted a remake and got the popup saying you can only remake if one of your player DCs or didn't connect. Played the game anyway and lost horrifically and on the endgame score screen it showed Mao crossed out and red like a DC. At no point during the game did he disconnect so he had to be gone from the start but we couldn't remake. Not sure if this is common or not, not sure if its widespread or not., all i do know is it sucks to have a ranked loss that your not sure you deserve because of it.
