where is the blue essence?...

When in the loot window I disenchant champion shards and receive no blue essence, I had the gemstone option selected at the time, the one that shows the special hextech skins, I disenchanted my shards and received no blue essence, seems pretty broken. Not sure why even offer this mode of unlocking champions if it isn't going to grant what it says it would. I liked the old way better. Many bugs with this loot window lately. After receiving an S rank on a champion it said I would receive a chest, went to check out what I won and there was no chest... should rename the game League of False Hopes...
