Whole laptop freezes after logging in and loading into the the client.

I log into the client I don't do anything and in 3 seconds of loading the client.( Home page after logging in not in a game.) my entire laptop freezes. I don't know how to fix it. I've already uninstalled/reinstalled, repaired, and uninstalled unnecessary games on my laptop(in case if it was a ram issue). It was working fine yesterday and no patches or updates were made. I have no idea why this is happening. It's not an account issue because I tested it out with 3 different accounts with 3 different emails. and the same result.

Hey buddy! Thx for posting! I got the same problem and i am looking for answers too. After i logged in, my computer freeze and i cant even use my mouse! I have to shut down my computer manually by holding the start button. I hope we can get an answer soon.

Having the same issue starting this morning. Logged in, and the patch actually went through pretty fast. Logged in, and as soon as the client popped up, my entire laptop froze. Had to forcefully restart it. Needs a fix asap.

This client freezing has been happening to me since about patch 5.4. Riot still hasn't commented on it item 3070 Luckily my computer has never reached the point of being perma frozen. It still freezes my computer for a good 15+ seconds though upon every initial login.

My girlfriend had the same issue so I tried to help and realized that just waiting a bit u can play but u just cant watch the stuff of the home page of the client... I saw a post on W8 updates forums about this and there will be another update soon fixing this issue xD Gragas

Well I have the Same Problem. My laptop freezes, i cant even move my mouse icon after i login to the lol.client.

I have this same problem right after updating. It didn't happen until I updated to 5.13, then it stopped, now with the 5.14 it happens again. Riot, what is this? Please help us.

Edit: I have windows 8.1 and I did update windows yesterday. Is is windows fault? In case this is windows fault, what do we do?

Yeah, as soon as I've logged in, my pc's screen just freezes and i have to hard shut down

Post laptop specs. Brand, model #, CPU+frequency, RAM, graphics chip.

It seems like it'll be fine for a couple days then it'll start messing up again. And even when it does work I cant see my home page so I can't do anything with the event. I know its something dealing with the homepage. It's trying to load it and when it trys to it freezes my laptop and when it is working the home screen is blank. I know its nothing to do with my laptop specs besides it maybe being windows 8.1 but if i can run csgo with no issue and 100fps uncapped in league then why am I having this problem over and over?

Im having the same issue right now. I'll upvote your post and hopefully someone will notice and help us out. (I've already tried changing my compatibility but that didnt fix it )

I ended up, clicking Play as soon as I could and after a while it unfroze

I had the same problem and i submitted a ticket. They never replied but I tried later on and it works now I don't know about you guys but I think they fixed it

Im having the same issue, windows had a update so i let it update, after that update my entire laptop just crashes when i log into the client.

Same here, update the game, log in, everything freezes. would be nice if riot actaully read the message boards and provided answers, but yea...when has that happened?

Hey guys! I have the same problem for 2 days now - log in and everything freezes .. but I dont think its a problem with Riots Client, but with the new W8.1 update - as it happened the first time to me, after I updated my laptop. Changing compatibility and everything didnt work as well - but Mac users are having this issue as well right?
