[GAMEPLAY]Gangplank cleanse against Fizz ultimate damage?

I know that GPs 'remove scurvy' can free him of fizzes slow when it attaches to him... But to avoid 100% damage of the active hit? I happen to land 3 fishes on GP and all 3 times there was no damage taken from square hits of the shark (orca in my case) on him alone. The last one in a team fight managed to damage the team but not him still. I don't think he was knocked up and re-slowed at all ether.

Edit- I saw the orange eating happen way before the shark came up, it was not timed at the moment of impact.
