The first video actually looks really freaky, but the second video is something I think i can explain. Since league is from an angled, top-down perspective, and the hitboxes are close to the feet, it can sometimes look like the hook/skewer goes through a target. That being said, you can report a bug from in-client (bottom right corner) and send these videos in to rito if this happens too often. Cheers :)
its simple really. it look weird yeah but it all works with hitboxes. none of those are bugs they just look weird from the angle you were looking at. For instance, in the first clip, draven walked back into the spell. So as soon as the hitboxes touched the spell latched onto him to make it look better
