Kicked early from champ select

Twice in a row I've been in blind champ select communicating with my team and with around 10-15 seconds left on the countdown I got kicked for failing to choose a champion. The first time I sat out 5 minutes but the second time I had to wait 15 minutes. Has this happened to anyone else?
