League of Legends patcher non-stop file scanning

I've seen multiple other people with this issue, including some close friends of mine. And right now I'm having this issue on my laptop. I get to Files Scanned, and the counter just keeps going up, it never stops and continues on the the actual patch itself. I waited as long as an hour and a half and let it go up to 9000 files scanned, then I just said screw it. In previous threads, I found RIOT support telling summoners that it is a problem with the summoner's connection to the servers, however, with so many people having issues with it, that is highly unlikely, and nearly not possible. There is no way that it is just a coincidence that this many people worldwide are having this issue. And not just that, but I never had this issue before, until a larger patch came out (I believe the summoner's rift first beta update onto live servers in team builder). I also know it can't be a connection issue because I'm currently on my laptop and having this issue, using the ethernet from my desktop. My desktop did not have this issue yesterday. RIOT, please, fix this. I have seen a lot of posts about this with no response.

I had it earlier, I set it to repair and then let it scan after the repair to around 10k files since that's how many are present in the folder I figure.
