Game Freezes every 30-40 seconds

So i decided to come back and play some league of legends after leaving for some time. I played 3 games with my friends before i got this bug. I believe i got the bug after the most recent update/patch. So once im in game and playing, league freezes after 30-40 seconds consecutively throughout the game. i have played this game for over 5 years and have the computer to run it perfectly. I just wanted to know if there was a solution to this and if anyone else has had this problem in 2017.
