So I guess we aren't fixing the TERRIBLE launcher? We'd rather get more Project skins?

In the last few months of league of legends playing with my friends, we've dodged probably 10% of the games because of the launcher forcing us to do so.

The launcher bugs up, and either doesn't let you hit a button, straight up crashes, freezes, and it gets visually bugged to the point where there's nothing on the screen, minimize and maximize to have it freeze again.

The game itself is annoying enough most of the time without this garbage. Take your dicks out of the skin game for 5 seconds and put ONE person on fixing the launcher PLEASE.

This. The currently client is insanely low priority for random crashes (the hextech one that seems common this patch is higher priority), since they are working on the new client. Most of the coders are prioritized on the game client.

As for working on skins, that's a completely seperate team of people, who likely don't have the knowledge of coding to actually do anything about it. That's like making your roommate who is a musician try to fix bad wiring because your other roommate who is an electrician is out of town.

They're building a client from the ground up. It's currently in alpha stage, as they are attempting to gain parity with the currently client. It's taking awhile though, since they are rewriting everything from the ground up.

I would assume major bugs are still a high enough priority to be fixed on the legacy client though.

The Alpha client is being tested now by actual players and is in preparation..

Also this doesn't seem to be a large issue, so it's something you need to try and fix yourself before contacting Riot. Sometimes simply deleting League and reinstalling fixes everything.

He's not talking about the aesthetics of the launcher, which is being updated and current under PBE testing; He's referring to the bugsplat errors and other crashes.

It's not just aesthetics, they're rebuilding the entire launcher from the ground up. The new one won't be using Adobe Air, which is what the current one is built on.
