Extremely Low LP gain for wins, HIGH LP loss for losses

Was Plat 4 before reset, went 7-3 in placements to end up in plat 5. Cool. I play another game, and win +25 LP. Normal LP gain. I win the game after that, and only gain +13 LP. Strange, I think. I lose a game after that for -23 LP, then win 2 more games after that one for +13 and +14.

Why is the system acting like I should be in a lower division when I am 14 wins and 7 losses so far in ranked? Seems like a lot of other people on reddit are having this problem as well.

I should be getting far above 13 and 14 LP per win with my win ratio and how early it is in the season, having only played 21 games so far.

This would be normal LP gain/loss if my MMR were extremely low and I was not meant to be in Plat. However, I went 7-3 in placements and I am 14 wins 7 losses overall now so I don't think that is the case, and I still continue to only gain 13-14 LP per win while losing 23+LP per loss.

Something is wrong with the LP gain here, and I don't think I'll be playing any more league until it's fixed, because as of now 2 wins are equal to 1 loss in terms of LP. Pretty messed up.

Same. I don't care what their reasoning is, it's fucking stupid, but they're always a fucking joke when a new ranked season starts. They also love to remove my posts talking about this shit but never respond to my questions. Quality company.

Your lp gains and losses are tied to your elo you have evaded being dropped down to silver (a place where a lot of plat players end up) but on the flip side you are still playing in games against those plat players who are in silver with your similar elo so the system assumes you are over ranked and adjusts the lp gains and losses accordingly.

I'm having the same, got into plati 3 for placements, my MMR is at plati 1 atm and I'm getting 13 per win and losing around the mid 20's.... this is craaaazy it must be a bug? Surely?

Saw another post with the same problem. I'm just going to stay away from ranked for a little while if there's an issue.

Hey guys, I don't know if you're still experiencing this issue but I think I have something similar. I'm just a silver player, I was placed Silver 4 at the beginning of the season, went up to Silver 2 and everything was normal, it was about +23 lp per win and -18 per loss but then it radically changed to about +17 lp per win and -21 per loss. I fell back to S4, I'm back up to S3 right now but it still hasn't changed in about 2 weeks...

I think it's because you lucked out in placement... a lot of plat players were placed in low silver in preseason. It's possible you're now playing with people that are higher elo than you, who "belong" in a league or two up, so the system is trying to keep you stagnant while they climb. That's a guess, though, it's possible I have it backwards and you're somehow playing with lower elo players and the system thinks you should fall?

The reason why we're gaining 12-16lp is we finished our placements day 1 and got placed to high so our mmr is f'd

Means your elo is inflated. and your skill doesn't match the mmr.
