Dashing champions not hooked all the way to Nautilis even if they dash BEFORE hook lands

Pretty self-explanatory. Is the interaction is supposed to work like this?

If enemy champion dashes before hook lands, he doesn't end up next to Nautilis. Therefore, I'm not rewarded for predicting where someone is going to dash. Seems like if they dash before hook hits, they should end up next to Nautilis.

To clarify, this may only happen if the champion is dashing around the same time hook is landing. I have seen this with Lucian and Vayne recently, I'm sure there are others.
