Rakan and Xayah icon using RP?

I have opened a smurf acc with a friend of mine and we want to get those Limited icons for xayah and rakan. Those who you get when you gift a friend of yours when you use IP. The problem is.. I can't get 6300 IP together with my friend so we decided to use rp instead. does this work to get the icon? Do I have to gift Xayah/Rakan like you would gift someone? Or is there something special I have to click..
