I have been playing riven for a little bit now, and it seems like when pantheon throws his spear at riven when riven is a low HP, he dies even when using the E shield. Instead of taking damage to the shield it goes straight to the health and kills riven. I also watched a game from box box where this happened. I believed that the shield disappeared right before it hit his HP, but it also happened to me except with me, the timer for the shield was not nearly as close as his.
Cant be? Sheild should soak up damage if you time it properly. Either they used it wayy to early but, i highly doubt that box box would screw up something that simple. Only way Spear would hit your health is if he's dealing a lot of damage to take out ur shield and a portion of your health. But Panth would have to be uber fed..
At what time during the game did this happen? If it was early game during in lane, I can definitely see this happening. Early game, Riven's shield won't be very much, nor will she have a lot of armor, plus, if the Riven is low enough on HP, Pantheon's Q will "crit", dealing bonus damage.
This was late game. I had around 14 kills so i was pretty fed. Yes the q did crit, but my shield was at full and i believe the hit count was only around 350 or something around that range.
