TFT Lucian becomes unsellable / becomes enemy when placed on the board

Tried to sell a Lucian for the tear he had right when the round was changing over. He sold and i got the item but the Lucian was still on my bench and had a red health bar. Couldn't sell him again and when placed on the board he didn't take up a champion slot, but would attack my champions when the round started. So the rest of the game i was stuck with a Lucian on my bench that i i couldn't play and couldn't sell.
