Client slow/laggy "cant create a lobby right now"

Decided to come back to the game after being gone for years. Downloaded the game and everything. Noticed there is a new super client (which I honestly dont like, but what ever). Try to play a game and it crashes. Then just goes to "reconnect" screen and can't reconnect. Eventually I gave up.

That was last week. Today I tried again and noticed that the client sometimes doesn't even load or is super laggy. I tried doing a full repair several times, open and close, etc. Eventually I get it loaded and decide to see if the game works by doing a training map with a bot. First time, game crashes when launched. Second time I try, it doesn't even load the characters for me to select on the screen. Third, it won't let me add a bot to the other team, and now when I try to click on next/connect (what ever it is) to go TO the screen where I add the bot, it just hangs there. I can click the button, I can hit X, the game makes noise, but it doesn't do anything.

This is getting frustrated. I just want to play league. My laptop is only a month old and has no problem playing games way more graphic/cpu intensive then this thing. Anyone know how to fix it?
