League Client won't open 2019.

So I've been having this problem ever since the Lunar even started. I click to open League and I get the mini "League of Legends" icon but nothing happens. The client never opens and the icon sits there loading until I close the program in task manager. I've done pretty much everything I can think of to try to fix this. I ran league as administrator, configured my DNS, made sure I had the latest windows 10 update, and ran the windows compatibility troubleshooter. It told me that League is an "incompatible program".

I'm not sure what to do at this point. The only way that I have successfully opened the client is to uninstall and reinstall the game. After I reinstall the game, the first time I close out of the client I can't get back in which forces me to uninstall and reinstall again. I even took my computer to a repair place because I thought that it was a computer specific related issue but it kept occurring even after I took my computer to get repaired. I've ran the hextech repair tool as well which didn't help much at all. I've done the "clean uninstall" which it doesn't recommend but that's the only way that I've been able to get the client open. I'm legitimately baffled by this because this is the first time I've ever had problems with the client and I have been playing since October of 2017 on this computer. So if anyone has any solutions that I haven't tried it would be greatly appreciated.

So, I had the same problem for about a day. But i found a solution easier than everything that all the people here said. I clicked ctrl + alt + delete and opened task manager. Then in the left down corner there is a button that says more information (or something familiar, i don't know, mine was in Greek so...). Click that and go down and down till you find some League of Legends files. click on them and close them. That's what i did and it fixed.

this has been happening to me too and after struggling with this for 3 weeks... uninstalling and reinstalling over and over again. I finally found a solution!

Hopefully this works for you guys too. Delete the folder:

C:\Users\YourName\Documents\League of Legends

If you have replays/highlights that you care about, I guess moving the folder somewhere else would also work.

I have the same issue.. It worked perfectly yesterday, today I tried to open it and all of a sudden it didn't work. The logo poped up and then disappeared. In the task manager it shows up as 3 32 bits leagu of legends when the logo its up and then all of them crash... I reinstalled and it still does the same thing, I updated, I restrated, ran it on admin, opened it through the original location of the lol.exe, ran CC Cleaner and even updated all the drivers but nothing seems to work. I have been playing for a long time! a lot of time invested and lost :). if anyone has a fix please help!

this has been happening for months for other players and no response. they kinda fixed the issue the past two patches but it's back in fury this patch.

and yeah, uninstalling/reinstalling works for maybe a couple logins. then the issue happens again. Repair tool does nothing to help. Not gonna waste my time keep reinstalling this game.

im done with league of legends.

I'm in the same boat as you, I've updated all the drivers, windows, reinstalled 3 times by now, clean uninstall, etc. and the problem still persists as I cant even get into the login screen and was thinking something was wrong with my PC but now I know it's on the client itself. I was searching for a solution years back for about 3-4 hours and found nothing similar to this so its a really recent type of bug that doesn't effect the majority of people (only I'm affected in a server with 20-ish league players). I think our best bet is to just try our best for this problem to gain visibility via Riot support/social media since its not that common of an issue and who knows when it will be fixed, if ever.

after the update i logged in and it didn't open the geme itself afterwards, i used console to forceclose the proceses from lol, opened it again and it also worked fine after that.

Hey guys,

I had this same problem for the past 2 weeks, and today i tried something... I deactivated my antivirus and then proceded to try opening league of legends... and it worked!!!

Somehow, and i don't know why, my antivirus (in my case, i use avg internet security) was blocking my client application and preventing it from opening.

Luckily, i found a way to open LOL without deactivating my antivirus everytime i want to play. So i did my following steps (remember, i did this on avg internet security, if you have a different antivirus, try to find out a similar way to do the same):

1- Open "Avg internet security" and go to "Menu->Settings->General->Blocked and Allowed apps";

2- Click on "+ Allow App";

3- chose the file you want your antivirus to allow, which in this case is "LeagueClient.exe" in the path "C:\Riot Games\League of Legends" (make sure if this is the same path on your pc.

From this point on, you will be able to play league again.

Hope this helps. Have a nice day and GG xD

There was a comment on here that helped me - go to Task Manager and see if League Of Legends appears anywhere in the list. Right click it and select End Task. If it's listed multiple times do the same until they're all gone. Then see if clicking the shortcut makes the client appear again.

I had the problem too and after I deleted my Avast Premier "Antivirus" everything worked, you could try it too and delete your antivirus*[slayer-jinx-wink]*

FIX: 5/7/19

Hi guys, I had the same issue for over a month, did all the recommended things and no joy. Riot support FunderFaker finally got me fixed. Turned out the issue was, the "League of Legends" folder in my "Documents" was to large. Saved the highlights I wanted, and then deleted the whole folder, and League now loads perfectly.

I probably spent 20 hrs trying everything else, not counting the reinstalling league some god knows how many times. Give this a shot. Good luck

DropThatAdamBomb4/24/2019, 9:35:33 PM1 votes

The same exact thing that happened for me. I've had to use many different techniques over the past month just to open the game until finally nothing else worked. The most recent solution i've used for re-opening my league after the patch was to move all of my captures / recordings of clips to my E:)Drive from my C:)Drive. Maybe this will work for you, CC cleaner didn't work for me.

P.s. I spent a fun 7 hours yesterday manually trying to solve this ongoing issue i've been having with league and magically got it to work somehow through administrative sharing settings, but like, RIOT PAY ATTENTION HERE. This is unf*#@^ing acceptable. If it weren't for the fact that I didn't have a life out of league, I would perma-uninstall this game solely for the horrendous amount of issues i've been experiencing due to the recent patch. It's been a MONTH that i've been having to full reinstall, hexrepair, scavenge the internet for no clear solutions, and do who knows what else to my settings related to league JUST TO RE-OPEN THE GAME every time I close out of it..okay rant over, but on a serious note, fix your shit riot.

emh... so firstly there are some places who tells you to delete some files... I think... I found out how to fix it without deleting these files, cuz honestly Idk how to locate them.. so if the things below don't help try to (I copied from another place btw) :

Delete the folder: C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\projects\lol_launcher Re-open LoL. During this time the badge will show as it redownloads the files. Please do not click the badge until it either disappears of LoL opens.

If that does not work, try this (similar to above)

Try the following:

Delete:

  • everything inside C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\downloads
  • lol_air_client and lol_air_client_config_na inside C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\projects
  • everything inside C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\solutions

After deleting ,restart your computer. When restarted, run League of Legends in Administrator Mode.

(My own way):

Do Windows + R + Enter and write Resmon.exe

then go to CPU the 2nd thingy and search League of legends

end them all until there's nothing more maybe reboot or just launch directly after

if it didn't work try to delete random lol files that's what I did

or else try to do the Esxen.exe process :)

hope this worked [sg-kiko]

annnnddd found this link lol I don't even know why I am searching for more solutions rn
