how does the season end rewards work ?

hello there, I have reached plat 5 like a few months ago and stop playing lol, when I logged in today, it said, I have ended the season in gold I understand that if u don't play regularly, i will drop down to gold, but i thought the season end rewards depend on the highest ladder u reached?

can someone please clarify? so I have to end the season above plat to get plat border?

no you get the rewards but what's your curent rank. so you are getting gold rewards

Yes, you have to end the season on platinum to get platinum border. It depends of what elo you reach at the end of season, if you reach gold you will get gold border, same for plat and the others elo.
