Very low FPS (1080 gtx)

Hello all,

As for today i decided to buy a M.2 ssd for my pc ( samsung 970 evo ). Once I installed windows I tried to play league for the first time and I was shocked by the results. I have a nvidia gtx 1080 and i get a mere 60/80 fps in game with medium settings. Before i could get 144 which also is low considering the the card that i have. I have tried multiple different steps that the internet has showed me to solve this problem but nothing seems to work...

I installed the latest drivers and even installed Windows again but that didnt help.

Does anyone know what might be the problem here?

This game runs like dogshit on newer architecture. I get higher FPS on my old 7950 than my Vega 56 lmao. Riot's completely useless.

Have you checked if you're running in windowed mode? It often breaks and going fullscreen solves the issue.

Uninstall and reinstall league. Try a bots game with Task manager Performance Tab open. (Shift Control Escape) if your CPU shows high usage, while your GPU is low usage, You have a CPU bottleneck which could cause low frames. If your GPU is spiking, while your CPU usage is low, you have a GPU bottleneck.

If all that looks good, then you need to download HWMonitor https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html and check your temperatures. Since you were messing around inside your case, you could've knocked a fan loose, or unseated the cpu cooler. Use HWMONITOR to check your temperatures, percent usage, and clock speeds on CPU cores. (if you're not good with the tech, screenshot them and I can check them for you. (you'll want to get these numbers while you're in a game)

Which will give you the details of how your gpu is running. Compare those numbers to your GPU specs, and make sure the cards not just taking a shit. (again, screenshots of the GPUZ details if you don't know what you're doing)

Lastly, (this isnt part of your problem i'd imagine) a 600W power supply is basically bare minimum for what you're running. I'd recommend using black friday/cyber monday to upgrade your PSU.
