I get this message as well as the "there was an issue completing migration to the updated League Client. If you notice any issues..." message.
Just like some one wrote, pressing right click on LOL icon and pressing "Run as administrator" helped me. when starting client normally had the same problem as others, it wanted to change icons and asked me if it should "run as administrator" i was pressing yes and it would show this error. so i recomend trying do it like me . Cheers
I'm having the same problem... for the 2nd time. I'm having issues with my PC recently, can it be a virus infection that causes this problem? I have already scanned my PC with several anti-virus softwares and nothing been found. I am clueless...

@Riot devs: why are you using 8dot3names? Some clients (some filesystems) do net even support that, because the os disables it?
same problem here. I think the problem is that we all dont have the usual C:\ as our LoL folder. (I have D:\Riot...so on). Please fix that Rito. thanks

Ever Since patch 6.23 i cant update it anymore it will give bugsplats, crashes or when i dont look its gone i can do evrything again.. this is almost the 20'st time
