Aatrox q bug

While in the early game of top lane vses a Quinn I used my q to engage and the Quinn used her e. my q stopped working completely i didnt do any damge to her I didnt knock her up and i stayed were i cast my q from. I was under the impression that Aatrox q made you unstoppable, so how was she able to stop me.
