Jarvan Auto Attack animation

I've been playing a lot of J4 recently and i've noticed that when you auto an enemy minion/champ while standing right next to them (practically on top) the auto animation doesn't happen but the attack and damages still does. This doesn't actually affect the game but it is quite distracting and confusing because it is hard to tell if the attack did happen or if you cancelled it.
