issue with loading into game lobby

When the option is shown to me to click accept in order to go to a game, the league client redirects me to the main page or back to the lobby screen. When I am redirected, I can hear the lobby music playing in the background, and it does not let me into the screen that shows champion select. The only gamemode this doesn't happen in is aram, where the character is picked for me, so the client will let me into the chosen game regardless.

Is this a common issue?
