Champion select times out, then kicks me out for failing to select a champion.

I was just in a queue for a normal draft game, and the timer ended on the person who was selecting a champion before me. I expected the game to kick us out because on my screen they didn't select a champion, but about 15 seconds later everyone had champs selected except for me, with a 38 second timer. So I figure "okay, game lagged a bit." 10 seconds later I'm kicked out for failing to select a champion when I clearly had over 30 seconds left to pick. What gives? Now I'm stuck with a 5 minute timer for this. C'mon Riot, I've put up with a lot of your bugs before but this one takes the cake. Anyone else having this issue?
