This has been happening A LOT.. I was on queue and the client just crashed. Logged back in and I have -3 LP right after getting promoted to S2.

Queue dodging while in ranked champion select, whether it's intentional or not, will always result in the loss of LP, and if you are close enough to 0 LP, it is intended to drop you down to the negatives since you can't be demoted due to queue dodging. This is to prevent players from dodging a lot while at 0 LP.
It's really unfortunate that is happened due to a technical error and not on purpose. If this has been happening a lot, I'd suggest taking a look at some of the guides on Riot's support page that talk about troubleshooting errors, bugsplats/game crashes and other technical issues you may be having. Alternatively, you could make a post in the Help & Support board section. Whatever you decide, hopefully you find a solution to this.
