Abyssal Voyage stops when trying to Reactivate

I played as Tahm and his ult NEVER allowed me to travel. I would channel it, and when I hit R again... he would spin then... stop. No damage to me, as I was in the Spawn. I was able to swallow a teammate and move around... but that's about it... anyone else experience this?

Am I just doing something wrong? Seems pretty basic... hit R, pick travel location, hit R, travel to location. Didn't work!
