Client Freezes or Extremely Delayed During Champ Select

During champ select my client freezes or is extremely delayed. I am unable to lock in a pick or ban and am removed from champ select with a low priority queue and lp loss. I saw other posts about the same problem, but does anyone know a solution? Something that worked for them? I submitted a support ticket to Riot and the guy told me he doesn't know what to do and to post something here. I have already lost 13 lp and got put in a 15 minute queue and I don't want to be further penalized for something I can't control.
