Issues with Yorick's Maiden?

So I've had it in multiple games where I'll get the maiden to start pushing a side lane and I go off to another lane or objective with the team and it will randomly leave where it's pushing to come to me no matter the distance. I know that if she's close she'll come to help but I don't think that her being at top inhibitor and me being at bot tier 2 tower is close. It's happened even when I haven't attacked anything or used my E either. I'm pretty sure this is a bug or the AI is screwed up, but if it's not I'd like to know why.
