Why is my LoL client greying over during champ select

When i get into champ select it greys over and i cant interact with anything on the client. Its done it twice since i updated my client to patch 6.1 and I have "failed to select a champion twice during my ranked solo queue games. I lost a promotional game as well due to it so please tell me what to do.
