Smite?

This happened to me as I was playing Kat. That's all the explanation the death recap gives, as I was confused how I got 100-0ed so fast. He had the warding knife, not any other smite, so that wouldn't do damage. Can someone explain this? I'm genuinely confused.

Never even look at the numbers on deathrecap, only the champions.

Getting 1k true damage nuked by flash is a common occurrence for drc
