Can't pick champion [CLIENT]

I have been put on a time suspension numerous times throughout the past few weeks for something I cannot control. When I enter into a search for any sort of game type I automatically put myself at risk for what Riot likes to call a "disconnection," but yes I can still see people type and nothing else on my computer loses connection with the internet. Many times I will go to reset my search because the search time exceeds 5 minutes and a little popup displays saying that I have abandoned champion select when I had NEVER even made it that far! Just now, while in champion select, my connection supposedly "dropped" and I clicked "OK" on the popup and a little loading box was stuck in the center of my client making it impossible to click on anything. So, here I sit, waiting out another time suspension because of something that messed up on Riot's end of the deal. How in the heck can I stop this?
