I GOT A FREE SKIN OUT OF NO WHERE

So I was playing a normal drafted game about a week ago. Everything went normally as we banned champions and chose champions. However, after I locked in SivirSivir and waited for the game to start, I started to browse through the skins for sivir. Before this game, I had the snowstorm skin gifted to me by a friend some month ago, and I don't have any other skin. So as I was looking at the warden sivir skin, the game started. AND GUESS WHAT,
during the loading screen, the game said that I'm using the warden sivir skin, which I clearly do not own. Is this a bug or what? I never opened any hex chest that gave me a sivir skin item, and I never bought any RP ever, so can someone tell me what's going on? Not that I'm not happy, but just confused.

There was a bug back in season 3 where rapidly changing skins with a high latency just before the game launched would give you the last skin you had selected... Maybe riot fixed it by just raising the amount of latency you need. It sounds like something riot would do.

2 seasons ago They gave out free skins as the end of the year celebrations to any one who wasn't on any type of ban. I got an eve skin.
