Hosting a League LAN - Can't start custom games?

So have 10 people together from out of state to LAN tonight, pumped to play league. We're two games in and suddenly we can't create custom games? I saw an announcement practice games are disables. Was this announced ahead of time? We specifically all got together, 10 of us, to play 5v5s...
