Client crashes when popping up/Client becomes unclickable after changing summoner spell

Problem 1: Client crashing when it pops up.

Would have my client minimized and would be doing other things (i.e. scrolling through Facebook, playing another game in the background, etc.), but when the client pops up to say I have a game found, it would crash instead of giving me the "Accept/Decline" option.

Problem 2: Can't click anything after changing summoner spells.

Trying to play Kindred jungle, going to switch my summoner spell and I change to smite, but I can no longer click anything to change masteries o r runes. Ended up dodging that game so that I didn't have to play AP Kindred with Windspeaker's as my keystone. Happened again later on and again when I was trying to switch summoner spell on ARAM with Sion.
