Four times in a row now after I click the accept button and go into champion selection, it's just a black screen, but I can hear the timers counting down and whatnot. This just started happening to me today. Very upsetting because I wanted to play a lot of league today and now all I'll get to do is get cooldowns and frustration.

I hit accept and then the game takes forever to actually load champ select; I can still see my friend's list but the main client is just black. :/ It only started after the most recent patch; before I never had issues loading into champ select.

it has to do with how many friends you have on your list, I have close to 300. Delete about 200 of them and it will start functioning a bit better. This is because we can see our friendlists inside of champ select

LuxuriousBinding1 votesPeople have had less than 20 and it still happens. Try closing your friend groups also before a game. That works too. It's 100% the friend list.

Would have gotten exactly enough LP for promos. Now I have to play at least one extra game, and I'm on the dodge timer. Client went perfectly back to normal after it kicked me out of the lobby, too.

Edit: The black screen doesn't last only 5 seconds for me. It lasts until I get afk'd out. I also don't have many friends on my list.
