Can I please, please shoot a freaking global ult IN FRONT of me instead of behind me every freaking time.

I am not sure what you are saying, but some possible explanations could be

  1. Pressing R on an allied portrait on the side
  2. Pressing R on the minimap
  3. Your cursor was behind you

If you would like to test 1 and 2 in a custom, get to level 6, point your cursor at an allied portrait, and press R. This could be your problem, and it is totally understandable because I have done the same thing.
