I cannot get my unread messages to stop showing notifications after reading them from my friends list. I keep having 1 next to names showing I have an unread message.
Also, sometimes I am unable to even open a chat with somebody to talk or in pre-game lobbys it only shows "Connecting" and I am unable to communicate with team.

Have the same issue, every week, a new bugg, guys I guess its a hidden feature!
It stopped happening for me when I xed out of the conversation from the tab on the left instead of minimizing it.
Riot broken more sh*t again..
Can't even make a chat feature work properly. Then again, Riot is a small indie company.
I've just cleared each discussion threads which were bugged, rebooted computer / LOL client, it seems to do the job. To do so, you will have to click on the "gear" icon located in the top right of each conversation, and hit that "Clear history" action. I'm not sure about the exact wording, 'cause my client is set to "baguette" language. Repeat for each glitched chat conversation.
I can't help myself to not feed the troll..
Come on people, this service / experience is FREE. It's an app / a game which is in constant evolution, there will always be bugs / glitchs because they are tweaking / enhancing stuff. Just report them, and be happy to play to a nice game for FREE ?
