"Game still in progress" AFK Trap! (MAC Computer)

Hello, I will try to keep this brief. I was starting a P V AI game this morning and I chose my champion. However, I was never taken to the loading screen with the champions, but was stuck on at my home page with the mouse spinning (loading). Eventually, a screen popped up saying that my "Game is Still in Progress". There was no way to reconnect to the game nor get back to the main menu. I had to wait for the match to be over to get to the result screen saying that I'm being reported as AFK.

There's a lot of discussion on this issue for Windows, but never saw one for MAC. Can someone let me know what to do to fix this? Also, if the same issue occurs, will I be banned from the game due to this bug? Thanks in advance to help me out!
