Evelynn Q

Whenever I am attacking the red buff her Q attacks the main monster for the first 2 or 3 times.. then automatically starts hitting the smaller monster. I have no idea why. Only happens at the red buff. E the red buff, and am Q'ing same time. first 3 hits are perfectly aligned, then starts just shooting off to the right or left.
