I cant play with my friend solo/duo

I finished P2 last season and he finished P3 at the end of preseason we both finished at P5 but we still can't queue up together I saw you guys at riot reported that bug in the client but I still ain't able to play with my friend P.S. The message we get is there is too much difference in our ranks even though we are both unranked
