I first ran into this issue as of today after the 7.4 patch. Did not run into this issue prior to this patch. (occured twice in a row, recorded 2nd try)

Thanks for the report and to everyone else with follow up verification. In order to address this as quickly as possible, can you please submit a support ticket here:
and select 'I am having technical issues' as your problem.
Once you get into ticket creation, can you attach your logs from the time that you had the issue in the client?
You can find the log files by following this path:
C:\Riot Games\Logs\LeagueClient Logs\
In that folder, you'll want to provide the following log file types:
a. LeagueClient.log b. LeagueClientUx.log
If you're having trouble figuring out which logs go to which session, you can send the whole folder over in an attachment.
Once we have tickets and logs we can immediately look into this.

yes, it happens to me about half the games, already got to 30 minutes waiting time for queue dodge.. just great.
Typical garbage update.
I have been black screened twice at champ select during ranked games in the past 4 games. I cannot see anything but a totally black screen. The only way to reset is to exit out of the client - AKA "get a ban for dodging." Now I am at a half hour timer ban and have nothing to do but complain to this company. Everyone should be compensated with LP, IP or RP. Now i fully expect to get someone in my next ranked game that says they are gonna feed and I wont be able to dodge unless I want a 4563465354 hour long ban on playing.
Have not confirmed if this occurs in Draft mode but fucking fix it already.
I am almost positive (can someone confirm) that you lose LP on a dodge. I was 1 game away from my promos both times I had to dodge
Happened to me in ranked queue and now I have an AFK timer. 5 dodged queues before it happened to me. I think it's a common thing with the new update.

That just happened to me too. I received an invitation, joined in and everything worked fine until someone left the party and another ready-check popped up. I accepted it only to be met with a black screen while still hearing every sounds including the countdown that I needed to ban someone.
It's not fun losing LP because of bugs like these.
The Team From lolupdater.com found an solution. The Problem is coused by some overload from cclient, they updated some of their client components with faulty things, we found an workaround.
go to chatoptions and toggle group offline and also toggle group mobile, after that it should be fixed for some of ya guys.
but keep spamm support with this problem their new client is buggy as hell under the hoods, almsot all their components are fucked up and outdated.

Hey, I'm from EUW but I have an account here too. I logged in just to say that it has happened to me twice, but both times I had the client behind another task or minimized. Like, I accepted to get in the game, and while everyone else was accepting to get into the champion select screen, I went back to a guide I had in a browser. So, for me that's been the cause of it until now. It may not be yours, but I'm saying this so maybe you can avoid the problem again.

Greetings! I have this problem and have found a "fix" depending on if you have a big friends list. I found that closing the friendlist freezes my client, and there for closing it before a match, let me enter without a pause.
I just had this happen to me in my placements, just sent in a support ticket with logs.
I got the same problem. And its not the first time i loose LP because of bugs from the league client. The only fair thing to do would be refund the points and shut down ranked queues until the mistake is fixed. Its bad enough that in rankeds the matchmaking system doesnt work properly, so at least rito should fix the technical issues before patch them on the servers.
Started another game, again the same bug. Looks like we cant play anymore until riot starts working and brings up the next patch in a few weeks

CodeBear, i encountered the same issue even with Low Spec enabled.
This appears to be a very common issue, Riot Codebear I see your response, why can't someone at Riot duplicate this issue and address it a little quicker? I know it doesn't happen to everyone but my friend and I had to wait on 2 dodge timers. Can these dodged games be forgiven?
Same thing has happened to me twice now. It's a real downer because i am in series too and have automatic losses because riot's client doesnt work. Every since they updated their client I have had nothing but crashes. Repair doesn't do anything. Good thing I dont play very much anymore. LOL has gotten worse.
So i dodged to get out of a bad lobby. now i get this black screen in champ select. so if my friend hadn'y dodge for me i would have a dodge penalty.......is riot ever gunna make a statement on this? even pros on twitter are having issues and i see nothing about it
I'm also having this happen in flex rank. as soon as match is found, black screen happens when we go to champ select and i'm forced to wait it out. currently on a 9 minutes ban since this was deemed the 2nd "dodge" by me when i simply could not see anything. i still feel players should be compensated for this type of game error. we play the game, we give you our time and in some cases our money. we deserve better than this. but no. nothing will be compensated.
In my series to get into silver and this happened twice in a roll. Now I'm going to be banned for 30 mins and might be kicked out of my series. I had two wins and one lost. Please help!

happened to me just now again. I say again because it happened earlier too. The first time resulted in 3 lp loss and 5 minute queue time out. Second time resulted in 10 lp loss and 30 minutes banned.... It sucks for people in my situation as it is but I can only imagine what it's like for people who were in their series.....
